LOBBY DAY: AB 283 CA Caregivers Collective Bargaining
Caregivers Support Us All, Now It’s YOUR Time to Support Them - SOLIDARITY ACTION to PASS AB 283 - Collective Bargaining for CA Caregivers
Imagine working 24/7 to keep someone’s loved one alive—and still struggling to pay rent. That’s the reality for 829,000 IHSS caregivers across CA. AB 283 is simple: It lets all home care workers negotiate together for living wages, benefits, and respect. (BONUS: AB 283 saves CA money!)
WHY YOU SHOULD CARE:
✅ 1 in 5 Californians will need care as they age—will workers exist to help them?
✅ Your parents. Your neighbors. YOU. This is about ALL of us.
✅ Right now, caregivers burn out & quit. AB 283 helps stop this retention crisis as our elderly population dramatically increases, demanding more and more caregivers.

CTA’s Statewide Action: FIGHT FOR SCHOOLS!

📢 San Diego, there's a lot at stake.
The recent executive order to dismantle the Department of Education puts billions in public school funding at risk, including school meals, Special Education resources, and classroom supports for our most vulnerable students. Our schools and our students need MORE resources, not less!
SDEA is joining fellow educators, families, & allies statewide to rally across the state on May 17. Show up & stand up for public education!
